Ex-pats / Gay marriage = The fall

Just so you know, I do not have a lot to write on one subject. But plenty to say about a lot of subjects. Not to say I could blather on about any given subject and drive it into the ground. Just that many things have popped in my head as of late.

Many miles to go, so lets get started.

Ex-pats:

Now I have read that many young americans, and by many I mean people who post on websites I read, wanting to make a change. Not in the way the country is run, but rather to leave this country and find a new one. I see lots of posts titled reasons to move to Sweden, How do I move to England, Hey can I get into Australia and Tired of this place want to move to Germany.

Now my problem is not with wanting to leave America, but instead of looking for places to move, maybe you should ask “Why do I want to leave?”. This question when answered will give you a better idea of where you want to go. This by no means is a small change like moving to a new apartment or dumping your girlfriend of 5 weeks. This is huge and in no way should this be taken lightly.

Now I am not saying America is the only place worth living, because it is not. I love my country, very deeply and for me, this is a great place. Everything I have is what I have earned. No one else supports me, I work, get paid and support myself. Now with that in mind, you could move to any place else but if you are not making it here, what makes you think you will make it anywhere else?

Most country's require you to have a skill set that is in demand in the given country, or that you have enough money to support yourself. Both of which if you had, you would probably not be looking to move.

Most country's taxes are much higher than in the US, this is how the government will pay for everything. And those benefits are for citizens only. So ask yourself why the hell would I want to leave? And once you figure that out, then find someplace you will blend in. And just so you know, most country's claim not to hate immigrants, but deep down, if you do not blend in, learn the language and the culture, they may look down on you just like we do here.

If after all that you still want to go, I wish you well, but the Government will get one last poke at you with the exit tax. Well, Mr. Obama will up this again I am sure of it.

Gay Marriage:

Why is this an issue still? This along with so many issues, race class, income, religion and on and on...

It is set there to divide us, to get us to fight with each other, to not trust one another. If we do not learn to dismiss these subjects we will fall. Think of what we could do if we were all on the same page. We could get everything straightened out in quick order, I mean the things we all need, like good jobs, good neighborhoods a better country to live in.

I have no quick way to get us there, but I will not fall for it anymore. I will look at an issue and see if it really matters. If it does I will make a stand, if it does not, I will dismiss it.

Bonus:

I find it very funny the the IPO of Facebook (FB) is now being met with law suites, I mean really? You bought it, you even bought it after GM announced that it would no longer advertise on FB. What did you think that was? I heard it on the news two days before the IPO. You all make me laugh, you will never get rich playing with the stock market, you can get richer but you will not get rich.

Now if you will excuse me, I need to go sue Dutch Bros. For getting me hooked on their coffee.

Oh I forgot

I made mention of the Bible not being supported form outside sources and did not provide a link for this. Well I had it in my head and just forgot to add it, I think I saw a shiny thing... go figure. Anyway here is the external proof:

Scrutinize What You Believe

So, it comes to me that I need to "prove" my faith. I am boggled, as not only is this an exercise in futility as you either believe, in which case you are not looking for the proof, or you don't and short of making God appear you will reject anything I have to say.


First things first:

In 115 AD, P. Cornelius Tacitus wrote the following passage that refers to Jesus (called “Christus,” which means “The Messiah”) in book 15, chapter 44 of The Annals:

“Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular. Accordingly, an arrest was first made of all who pleaded guilty; then, upon their information, an immense multitude was convicted, not so much of the crime of firing the city, as of hatred against mankind. Mockery of every sort was added to their deaths. Covered with the skins of beasts, they were torn by dogs and perished, or were nailed to crosses, or were doomed to the flames and burnt, to serve as a nightly illumination, when daylight had expired.”

I find this funny, because I see us heading this way again, oh not with the death and torture. But we already have the humiliation down. 


OK, well lets start with what the Bible tells us;
It tells of of dinosaurs, chapters 40 and 41 in Job.
Stars being uncountable; Jeremiah 33:22
Tells us air has weight; Job 28:25
Blood being central to our being; Leviticus 17:11


I do find atheists funny in the fact they parrot just like Christians, for example I found this quote:

This is what always gets me, well not just this, but nothing in the bible can be supported by any sources outside the bible. Indeed, the bible doesn't prove the bible to be true but they won't get it.

Oh my, cannot forget this one:

I can tell you have never read the entire bible, only selected parts of it. It is evil document. For example, it calls for murdering one’s own children for the silliest of excuses. If you read the whole thing, you will discover you are forced to disown/discount most of it at too barbaric/silly. The bible claims infallibility, yet it is flat out wrong on nearly everything it has to say about history or science. It thus cannot be the word of god. It thus should not be given any more weight that other ancient works by men on morality. In the name of religion, people do the most evil things because they are so sure god wants them to. The bible was penned by some very screwed up people, especially Deuteronomy and Leviticus and the psychotic guy who wrote Revelation.

I like the evil part myself, I left the link so I can go back and read his Bible study. Oh and for the record I have read the Bible and I am not forced to disown/discount most of it at too barbaric/silly.


So, it comes down to many fools writing a book not able to be supported outside of itself. Well let me see, how about more facts:

Isaiah wrote during the reign of the Judaean king Hezekiah, who died in 687 B.C., but Cyrus did not begin to reign as king of the Persian empire until after 600 B.C., more than 80 years after Isaiah left the scene. Only God could know the name of the man who would be the Persian king before he sat on the throne.

 Recent discoveries have validated the historical integrity of the Bible, causing many archaeologists, who have had a poor regard for the Bible, to turn from a bias against it to a scientific respect for it. For example, in Genesis 15:20 a people called the "Hittites" are mentioned. For centuries, people laughed at the Bible for making up a whole group of people. But a few decades ago, the ruins of a city located in the country of Turkey, north of present-day Israel, was discovered which proved to be the ruins of a main Hittite city.

In the end, I take faith, belief with out facts. And according to some, I am an idiot, I am irrational, I am dangerous. So mothers warn your little girls about the big bad Christian faith man...

But wait...

I have been having a really hard time for a while. See I am a man of faith, but I view myself most days as the prodigal son. Turns out I am not, so then what does that make me? I don't like to push my faith on anyone, but yet I will engage when I feel like the conversation is leaning that way. Now what I find to be really funny about this, I am told by atheists not to push my make believe God on them, yet they will reduce my faith to a bad joke form some mentally deficient, uninformed and just plain stupid person.

I do not argue about the "incontrovertible" truth of evolution, even though a major split in the scientific community suffered a major split on global warming for using a similar word. Nope I let it slide, why? Because it is my faith that tells me we were created.

It is my faith that holds me up.

It is my faith that keeps me from doing unspeakable things to my brothers and sisters on this planet.

It is my faith that drives my compassion.

It is my faith that that lets me love my brothers and sisters on this planet.

Why I see now I am an idiot, I should be out for myself rather than try to help make this world a little better. That is why I am where I am... because of my faith... Oh how you have let me down. Maybe next time I should not stop the guy from choking his wife. Maybe next time I should mind my own business when the little old lady falls over. Next time I will keep my food and money all to myself, yeah that would be easier...

It is my faith that keeps me better than I deserve. I am not saying you cannot do these things with out faith, just for me I need faith in God, I need faith that there is a bigger picture, I need God to be the truth, so that I have a guide for which to mark my path. I cannot answer to man for these marks as man is flawed, forever changing.
